High School Diploma - High School Completion - Part 2

TRADITIONAL CLASSROOM STUDY
Adult-oriented high school courses are great for individuals who enjoy face-to-face interaction with their teachers and classmates. Good adult educators respect the life and work experiences of participants, and encourage active participation and collaboration. Classes may be offered at times that are more convenient for working adults, such as evenings and weekends.

DISTANCE LEARNING
Distance learning programs allow you to work independently, on your own schedule and at your own pace. There are many different types of distance learning, including correspondence, telecourses and web-based classes. Occasional face-to-face meetings may be required for some programs.

Correspondence Courses
Correspondence courses are print-based study programs. Students read and complete assignments independently, then submit them by mail or e-mail for marking and feedback.

Telecourses
Telecourses are video-based lessons which may be viewed from the student's home or at a school. The telecourse, "GED Connection" is broadcast through public television.

Web-Based
To do a web-based course, you must have a computer with an Internet connection. In web-based courses, students interact with their teacher and classmates through e-mail, discussion forums and online chat. Students may receive course materials by e-mail or access them on the Internet.

CONCURRENT HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE STUDY
Are you anxious to finish high school and college? Confident in your abilities? Prepared for a challenge? If you answered "yes" to all of these questions, consider co-enrollment. This is a fast-track option that allows students to take college level classes to fulfill high school requirements. Students earn credits towards high school and college diplomas simultaneously.
